Lemon Jelli is cool yet comfortable; an American-French style bistro with vintage posters adorning the walls and a mixture of seating areas, from cosy sofas in the windows to diner-style metal chairs and wooden tables. Coffee blends and loose-leaf teas are in abundance and the food menu is extraordinarily extensive. Afternoon teas, scones, pizzas and salads feature alongside American-style favourites, such as five-dollar shakes and the Ultimate Burger. We saw this arrive at the next table – stacked high and brimming with pulled pork, bacon, and cheese, dramatically presented with a knife through the centre. The burger selection is simply mouth-watering. I went for the veggie option with halloumi, sweet potato fries and salad. Daily specials are always tempting, and the spicy chilli with rice arrived in an enormous bowl and was consumed with gusto. Lemon Jelli now have ‘ce soir’ opening times, where the vibe changes to a laid-back bar showing old films and featuring live music and a tasty evening menu.
