Situated on the edge of The Lawn, this family-friendly restaurant offers a varied menu of home-cooked food. Pride of place must go to the traditional daily carvery. Choose from two meats (four on Sunday) plus Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, vegetables and gravy, all priced at only £6.50 from Monday to Saturday and £6.95 on Sundays. The main menu offers a good range of starters and main courses, as well as puddings just like mother used to make. In the summer guests can sit in the park under the swaying palm trees for which this part of the country is famous. Wherever you sit, you can be sure of friendly service. Owners Catharine and Chris also offer outside catering and host special evenings at the restaurant during the winter, including a Burns' Night, a French night on Beaujolais Day and Christmas lunches, for which booking is essential.
