Situated on the banks of the fabulous Teign Estuary, within strolling distance of picturesque Combeinteignhead, The Coombe Cellars couldn't occupy a more idyllic spot. Virtually every table has a spectacular view, and in the evening you can watch the sun set over Dartmoor. Inside, the driftwood sculptures and eclectic mix of furniture make it feel more like a New England beach-house brasserie than a country pub.

On the menu you'll find sharing platters packed with goodies - great for a starter or a snack - and starters such as the chef's French onion and Port soup with a crisp Wensleydale cheese crouton (£4.95). Mains range from classic favourites like beer-battered haddock with home-cut chunky chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce, spicy ketchup and Aspall's malt vinegar (£9.95) to more exotic dishes like pan-fried Barbary duck breast with orange and grape jelly, Dauphinoise potatoes, tender-stem broccoli and broad beans, topped with a caramelised orange (£15.95). Visit for a lunchtime light bite and you'll find irresistible sandwiches and treats like beef fillet slices in a paprika and cream sauce with rice.

On Sundays families and friends can share a superb roast dinner, play board games and let someone else do the hard work. To describe The Coombe Cellars as a cracking village pub just doesn't do it justice. Book a table today
