Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Escape the hustle and bustle of city life with your family and four-legged friends and enjoy delicious home-cooked fare in charming surrounds at the Farmers Arms. Whilst at this beautifully renovated farmhouse, enjoy a glass of wine, pint of real ale or Somerset cider whilst admiring breathtaking views of the Mendip, Blackdown and Quantock Hills as well as the pub’s scenic gardens.
If you’re stopping by to eat, tempting starters include cold water prawns and Devon crab with avocado, Granny Smith apple and pink peppercorns. For a real treat, follow with one of the cooked-to-perfection steaks served with garlic and herb butter, cherry tomatoes, roast shallot and triple-cooked chips. Sundays are reserved for the famous roast, and diners will be delighted to find topside of beef, leg of lamb and succulent pork belly served with crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and rich red wine gravy. If a roast doesn’t tickle your fancy, why not plump for a delicious brunch dish? The classic eggs Royale features perfectly poached eggs and delicious smoked salmon, and there’s also baked polenta with wild mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and sauce vierge if you want to try something different. You can also extend your visit and stay the night in one of five exquisite en-suite rooms, three of which have a roll-top bath, and all five rooms are complete with antique furniture and stunning views of the Somerset Levels, which are well worth waking up to.
