The Farmers Arms
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
If you’re looking for great food, superb wine, real ale and a friendly atmosphere, The Farmers Arms is the place to be. Owners Jane and Tim share a passion for providing every guest with a meal to remember. The menu changes seasonally in order to showcase the freshest local produce and every dish is made from scratch by the team of dedicated chefs. Tantalising starters could include venison Scotch egg with cranberry and orange compote, and smoked mackerel pâté with crostini. For the main course, you must try the homemade game pie, filled with a stunning combination of local pigeon, venison, partridge, pheasant and rabbit and served alongside braised red cabbage, seasonal vegetables and your choice of potatoes.
The kitchen also boasts a charcoal-fired Josper grill, which the chefs use to cook succulent steaks and other delicious meats including corn-fed chicken supreme and venison haunch, imparting a remarkable and distinct flavour.Sundays are reserved for the famous roast, where you may find the likes of roast loin of pork with crispy crackling or topside of Exmoor beef served with seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes and rich gravy. If a roast doesn’t tickle your fancy you can opt for another tasty dish, such as crab mac and cheese or Exmoor ale-battered cod with caper, dill and lemon mayonnaise, chips and peas.
