If you’re looking for a homely venue where hearty food, refreshing drinks and top-notch service are the norm, look no further than The Kings Head in the market town of Dursley. It sits in a pretty spot, and is popular with walkers who stumble across it after a country ramble, looking to put their feet up and tuck into something delicious.

The new menu features reasonably priced, traditional dishes created with comfort in mind. Serving up legendary traditional Sunday roasts with a choice of meat – slow-cooked in a wood-fired oven for up to seven hours for maximum tenderness – and a Yorkshire pudding, peas, roast potatoes and beef gravy, you can expect both quality and quantity. Alternatively, start the day as you mean to go on with an all-day breakfast or choose to eat from the daytime main menu, which has a great selection of specials.

The owners have given the outside space a breath of fresh air, transforming the garden into a great place to dine al fresco with the kids and your pooch – all are welcome. The Kings Head offers live music or a disco every Saturday night, making it a hugely popular hub for locals. It comes as no wonder it was voted The Gazette’s Pub of the Year 2016 for the Dursley area.
