Menus are small but varied, and concentrate on seasonal food that is available on the doorstep. Whitehouse is open seven days at week providing leisurely breakfasts, long lunches in the sun, slow dinners by the fire, barbecues on the lawn, tapas at the bar, afternoon tea on the terrace, or simply a glass of bubbly in the garden. The dining room can seat up to 40, whilst the private dining room is available for you to host your own dinner party or even a film screening for up to 20 guests. The sitting room and study are ideal for a catch up with friends, a lunch meeting or brain-storming session, and the private terrace and garden offer more areas to eat and drink, whether for two or 60. Wedding and exclusive house hire are also available.
Breakfast serves up buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon, Bircher muesli, a full English, or banana and lime smoothies. Lunch offers platters to share - fruits de mer, charcuterie, local smoked fish - and enjoy afternoon tea at 4pm with a glass of Champagne, homemade scones and cup of Earl Grey. Dinner choices include chargrilled halloumi with chickpea salsa, pan-roasted chicken breast with pancetta and cannellini bean stew. The bar is open all day, every day, serving garlic toasted almonds, rosemary-infused feta, Napoli salami, fat green olives and a glass of chilled sherry.
Situated in the heart of the South Hams countryside between coast and moor, the Whitehouse is a relaxed and laid-back Georgian house, with peaceful gardens and six luxury bedrooms. Whether it's the ambience, the look, or the taste of the food, the Whitehouse is based on the things in life that we all enjoy.
