If you should find yourself in the beautiful city of Wells, might I recommend the charming Beah: a restaurant full of warmth and character. Housed in a restored church building, the restaurant retains its stand-out features, with stunning stainedglass windows. Noureddine Bzize, originally from Mohammédia near Casablanca, has an impressive career under his belt, and his wife, Nicola, is committed to providing excellent service for guests. To reduce food miles, they source produce as locally as possible, and this is reflected in the incredible food served. I opted for wood pigeon pastilla followed by lamb tagine served with apricots and ground almonds. My partner began with the tian of crabmeat, avocado and prawns, followed by the loin of tuna, which arrived on a bed of cous cous with basil mousse and balsamic reduction. Just above the restaurant is a space that's perfect for private functions and parties; and throughout the month Beah hosts live bands - what a wonderful place
