New owners of The Mitre, Sally and Alex, have been visiting Burnham-on-Sea for years and so when the opportunity to run their own restaurant came up, they had to take it. Situated just a short walk from Bridgwater Bay and Sunspot Amusements, The Mitre is frequented by locals as well as visitors to the area. Sally and the team have given the dining room a breath of fresh air, so the restaurant now boasts a modern, fresh feel, perfect for a relaxing meal out.
Step inside to find a simple yet classy interior with white tablecloths, soft lighting and a warm colour palette. It’s a cosy space with an intimate atmosphere – the perfect setting for enjoying fine wine and food.
English and Mediterranean dishes are the focus of the newly designed menu, served by attentive, knowledgeable staff. You might fancy the Camembert with red onion jam to start, followed by pan-seared sea bass with chorizo and lemon salad, or Moroccan-style chicken alongside vegetable couscous, tzatziki and coriander. A hearty portion of creamy cheesecake with a glass of wine will round off a lovely meal.
New on the agenda and already proving popular with regulars are the themed nights. Next time you’re in Burnham-on-Sea, pop in to The Mitre for an experience that is sure to be remembered and repeated.
