Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
The Hatchet enjoys a central location in Bristol just off Park Street. This traditional ale house is Tudor in style, has attractive period features and is perhaps best known for hosting excellent music nights. The Hatchet isn’t just about music though – during the day, there are private dining areas ideal for business lunches, and there’s also a function room complete with its own bar. In the summer, it’s not unusual to find that the beer garden is completely packed.
Food is served in generous portions and all the produce is sourced in the South West, from the Gloucestershire pork to the St Mawes seafood. If you’re popping in for lunch, you might like to try a sandwich filled with slow-roasted beef brisket, jalapeño mayonnaise and melted cheese. Alternatively, your group could share an assortment of small dishes, including filo-wrapped tiger prawns and sweet potato wedges served with fresh dips.
Those with big appetites should look to the grill menu for an excellent range of steaks and barbecue meat – the sticky barbecue-glazed pork ribs, served with onion rings and your choice of skinny fries or chunky chips, will satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. For a pre-gig bite, go all-American with a juicy burger or hotdog. Sunday roasts at The Hatchet are legendary for good reason – you can look forward to quality cuts of meat served with all the trimmings and lashings of homemade gravy.
