Chinese and East Asian
The stylish, bright, colourful surroundings of Bento Boss, a first-floor restaurant with great views of Whiteladies Road from its floor-to-ceiling windows, provide the perfect backdrop for the vibrant, authentic Asian cuisine created in its open kitchen. The set menu offered us the opportunity to sample several dishes from the extensive main menu, from bao buns and sushi to palate-cleansing ice cream. To start, we were served well-balanced miso soup and moreish crispy duck bao buns, and from then on a seemingly endless array of Asian delights was brought to our table. Up next was a fresh sushi platter and tofu in tempura batter, which provided a light precursor for the sweet, tender teriyaki beef and piquant Malaysia-inspired curried prawns. To finish we indulged in refreshing green tea and nutty black sesame ice cream. Bento Boss is a must for fans of Asian cuisine and serves some of the best in the city.
