Lulworth Cove Inn
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
At the threshold of picturesque Lulworth Cove, with awe-inspiring views over the beautiful historic thatched village, and conveniently close to the Jurassic Coast footpaths, Lulworth Cove Inn is an unforgettable establishment with a rich past. Boasting rustic charm aplenty, this delightful pub-restaurant is just as suited to a get-together with a large group of friends as it is to an intimate dinner for two.
We pondered over the menu as we sipped a chilled glass of pinot. I opted to start with mouth-watering tiger prawns served with garlic mayonnaise and sourdough – they were juicy and meaty; I could all but taste the sea. I followed with sublimely tenderslow-braised chicken leg in a cream and tarragon sauce served with crushed new potatoes, and couldn’t resist a bite of my partner’s flatiron steak, cooked perfectly rare and packed with flavour. For dessert we revelled in rich chocolate brownie, and coffee and walnut panna cotta – the perfect blend of textures, with velvety cream beautifully offset by the crunch of caramelised walnut.
As we sat back and enjoyed tasty cappuccinos from the Colourful Coffee Company, we were already thinking of booking our next table. We might just have to make a weekend of it and take advantage of one of the 12 en-suite guest bedrooms available.
