The Worlds End is a welcoming country pub at the heart of the local community. From supporting local charities to welcoming patrons with open arms, everything is done with genuine care.
My wife and I started with a butcher’s board to share, comprising pork belly bites, lamb kofte, glazed sausages and Buffalo hot wings with accompanying dips. The contrasting flavours and textures made this a great way to start. The 8oz sirloin steak with smoked black garlic butter clinched the role of the main course. Served with grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, watercress and skin-on fries, the melt-in-the-mouth steak tasted incredible, and the presentation was superb. My wife opted for pork medallions with wilted rainbow chard, potato rostis and a creamy Golden Champion beer sauce – a feast to behold. It was evident that we were pleased with our choices as we devoured every last morsel. For dessert I indulged in a childhood favourite with a grown-up twist – apple and beer-plumped sultana crumble with ice cream. The Fursty Ferret
ale-infused salted toffee sauce was a real treat. My wife plumped for the Black Forest sundae from the specials board, comprising scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream layered with cherries, chocolate brownie pieces and whipped cream. Judging from the way her face lit up as our friendly waiter brought the sundae to our table, she was certainly impressed. Delicious food and exceptional value for money all served up in a laid-back home-from-home environment – what more could you want?
