Set in a picturesque quayside location, The Village is one of Plymouth’s oldest seafood restaurants, boasting an excellent reputation for its range of freshly prepared fare. As well as its impressive seafood offering, The Village also serves up a range of locally sourced meat, poultry and game dishes with an exciting Grecian twist. All of this is complemented by a welcoming atmosphere and a wide range of beverages to suit every palate.
At lunchtime, the menu offers two courses for £10.95. Why not start with flavoursome garlic mushrooms before moving on to a main of seafood risotto or homemade fish pie? Later on, the extensive evening menu offers up a selection of appetising seafood starters – think fresh pan-fried scallops, and traditional prawn cocktail – as well as the likes of grilled halloumi and refreshing tzatziki. When choosing a main, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice: the luxurious seafood Thermidor is made with monkfish, lobster and tiger prawns and served in a creamy white sauce, and the seafood pasta à la village is a firm favourite, incorporating squid, mussels, prawns and delicate smoked salmon. For those who prefer turf to surf, there’s a range of meat and vegetarian plates available. Order the traditional Greek moussaka, opt for the creamy peppered chicken, or try the scrumptious mushroom Stroganoff.
