Unit 1 East Quay House, Sutton Harbour, Plymouth, PL4 0HX

Inspired by traditional open-air street cooking, this enchanting emporium brings together recipes from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and South East Asia. To discover the latest new recipe, pop by and order the lunchtime special. Thai chef Supha draws on several generations of family recipes to create a truly authentic dining experience, and the venue has earned a reputation as a haven for spice-lovers. Discover the likes of pla neung ma-now – freshly steamed fish stuffed with lemon grass, lime leaf and garlic in a seafood sauce – or pad pak bung fai-dang, comprising stir-fried water spinach in a garlicky oyster sauce. The wine list has been carefully curated with the likes of Picpoul de Pinet to complement the seafood, and merlot, shiraz and malbec to enhance the curries.

Situated close to Plymouth’s fish market, the menu makes excellent use of fresh seafood like monkfish, lobster, cuttlefish and ling. Most of the dishes are naturally gluten-free and can be made vegetarian or vegan on request. The lively decor boasts an array of green, yellow, orange and pink colours, with maritime paintings by Tod Otgonbayar, who was previously the official stamp designer for the Mongolian postal service. For another kind of sea view, guests can admire the picturesque Sutton Harbour from the waterfront seating area. In a final authentic touch visitors can purchase a souvenir from South East Asia before they leave.
