With the sun sinking behind us and one of Cornwall's most iconic scenes in front, we concurred that The Station House was a fantastic setting for dinner. This great British pub has it all: local ales, an extensive wine list, a fabulous menu and great outdoor seating where one can relax and watch the tides come and go. On the recommendation of our friendly hostess, we had the breaded mushrooms and the amply named 'wings of fire' (spicy chicken wings) to start. With palates suitably tantalised, we moved on to the main event of the gammon special and Station House garlic chicken, both of which were served in hearty portions but were too delicious to leave a single mouthful. The gammon, from local suppliers, was thick and wonderfully cooked and the chicken rich and succulent. What a treat - next time I'll make sure I leave room for a homemade dessert
