White Hart Inn
If you’re walking along the Thames Path or perhaps staying at Cotswolds Water Park, stop off here to warm your toes (and paws) by the fire and replenish with a plate of hearty fare. White Hart Inn is owned by three local couples, and building those all-important connections and supporting the community is something landlords Rob and Abbie are keen to maintain. When you visit, you’ll see they succeed; locals sit around tables regaling stories, and friendly faces welcome you at the bar, so whether you’re a fi rst-time visitor or long-standing regular, you’ll instantly feel at ease.
Menus are built around traditional pub food and do just the trick. The likes of summer frittata, roasted butternut squash soup and salmon sit alongside staples such as beer-battered fish and chips, steaks and juicy burgers. Desserts such as Eton Mess, homemade banoffee pie and locally made ice cream are highly recommended. Book a table for Sunday lunch to enjoy a nice end of week treat.
If food isn’t on the agenda, choose from the gin selection, updated wine menu or regularly changing real ale – the pub is Cask Marque-accredited, so you can be assured of a quality brew. Weather permitting, take your drink to the neat little garden and bask in the sunshine. The White Hart Inn is a great pit-stop for all.
