Bare Grills Smokehouse - Weston-super-Mare
As a passionate fan of the barbecues, smokehouses and grills of the US, I was thrilled when Bare Grills set up shop in Bristol. On arrival, we were instantly impressed with the authenticity of the smokehouse. The team is serious about meat – everything is smoked fresh daily over hickory wood pellets in a Cookshack smoker located at the back of the kitchen. The neon signage, long communal-style table and background country music all set the tone, instantly transporting you to a Texas smokehouse.
We started our evening with a couple of bourbon-based cocktails before ordering the popular sharing dish aptly named The Tower. This impressive, three-tiered behemoth featured miniature versions of the signature Bare Grill burger and the Jack Mac, the impressive size of which made us wonder how huge the full-size versions must be. These were served alongside a whole rack of baby back ribs, smoked pulled pork, chicken wings and smoked brisket. Accompanying all this were the sides: a huge portion of seasoned house fries, corn on the cob, slaw, barbecue beans, and the largest, most delicious portion of onion rings we have ever had.
If you’re looking for quality, slow-smoked meats and huge, hand-pressed burgers, you can’t go wrong with Bare Grills. It delivers on every front.
