The Tides Inn

0.5 miles
Beach Road, Woolacombe, EX34 7BP

As you might guess from the name, The Tides Inn is just a hop, skip and jump from the water’s edge. Those dining here can soak up the view of the award-winning golden sands of Woolacombe beach while dining inside the airy restaurant or out on the suntrap patio. Families are invited to enjoy relaxed dining, as are beach-goers, surfers and hikers exploring the idyllic seaside resort with their dog. Fairy-lights glow, flowers are placed in the windows and the fire is lit if the weather calls for it, creating a relaxing space where you can take an hour or two out of your action-packed day.

The menu is diverse, catering to the varied clientele that call in, and the staff receive plenty of praise for their friendly yet efficient service. Those stopping by during lunch are well catered for with steamed garlic mussels, burgers, The Tides Inn ploughman’s bowl and the steak sandwich. Flavoursome mains might include the likes of tender lamb rump served with shepherd’s pie or pan-fried hake with Bombay spiced potatoes and veg, while the specials board features dishes like the surf and turf platter for two, comprising a 12oz steak, whole lobster, king prawns, corn on the cob and asparagus. If you’ve got room, desserts to try might include coconut panna cotta with passion fruit and pistachios, and sticky toffee pudding. On Sundays, a delicious roast lunch is served with all the trimmings.
