The Captains Table
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
At first glance The Captains Table looks to be a typical seaside café. However, on closer inspection the marble flooring, modern wooden furniture, attractive marine decor and efficient waiter service all confirm that this place is special. With generous portions, affordable prices and a great majority of the diverse menu locally sourced, it's no wonder The Captains Table is well-loved by tourists, families, surfers and locals alike. I began with fresh, crunchy Cornish whitebait, followed by succulent pork loin topped with apple sauce - all accompanied by the reasonably priced, tasty table wine. The Captains Table is not just popular for its main menu, which offers everything from generously filled baguettes to hearty meals. It is also known as a great place to visit for breakfast - what better way to set yourself up for a day on the beach?
