The Smugglers Rest
Built in the 1800s, The Smugglers Rest sits snugly in the quaint coastal village of Mortehoe, just a short walk from one of Europe’s best beaches. Having welcomed visitors for over 100 years, this historic building has recently undergone extensive renovations under the care of new owners Stacey and Will, transforming the old bar into the charming Miss Fea’s Cafe.
Whether you fancy soaking up the summer sun in the lovely sheltered garden or snuggling next to the cosy wood-burning stove with a steaming mug of hot chocolate, Miss Fea’s offers a friendly welcome all year round.
The menu of delicious snacks, generously filled sandwiches and light bites is fresh and seasonal, incorporating locally sourced produce to provide a taste of the very best that Devon has to offer. The freshly ground coffees, teas, and tasty fruit juices and smoothies are perfectly accompanied by chef Stacey’s mouth-watering cakes and sweet treats. They also serve a selection of quality wine, spirits and local and craft beers.
The Smugglers Rest offers eight spacious en-suite rooms, boasting stunning countryside views, and will eventually host evening dining events and live music. Stacey and Will are proud to usher The Smugglers Rest into the future, and look forward to welcoming you soon.
