The extensive menu at this family-run establishment includes everything you'd expect from a traditional fish and chips shop, as well as burgers, all-day breakfasts, curries and homemade cottage and fish pies - all available to eat in or takeaway. The fish, which is sourced from the sustainable fishing grounds of the north Atlantic, is available either battered or grilled and there's the option of skate, plaice or rock if you fancy something other than the traditional cod and haddock. We opted to share two fish dishes; our haddock came fried in a light, crispy batter and served with a generous portion of crispy homemade chips. Our plaice was grilled, covered in rich lemon butter and accompanied by a fresh, crunchy salad. There's a lot of competition when it comes to fish and chips restaurants in North Devon, but Woodys is up there with the best.
