This stylish eatery occupies a striking location on the banks of the River Taw. Passing through the elegantly carved stone facade into the cosy interior, we were met by bright colours, bunting and cheery tablecloths. Vintage decor combined with the promise of a delicious lunch made this the ideal spot to unwind. I enjoyed flavoursome pepper quiche with a generous salad, whilst my companion went for stuffed roasted peppers. We followed this with a scrumptious slice of coffee cake and a tasty gluten-free brownie, accompanied by filter coffee. All the produce is locally sourced and we were pleased to see numerous gluten- and dairy-free options. We’ll be back to try the afternoon tea featuring home-baked scones and cakes. On sunny days these delights can be enjoyed on the terrace, which boasts stunning river views. This venue also takes private party bookings for hen nights and baby showers.
