The White Hart Hotel
Housed within a Grade II listed building is The White Hart Hotel. It underwent extensive refurbishment in 2014, which was completed sympathetically in order to honour the building’s rich history and original features, while also adding a touch of modern comfort.
This blend of the old and the new continues on the menu. The cheese soufflé paired with redcurrant jelly is an indulgent way to begin your visit, while the black pudding stack is a great choice for meat-lovers. To follow, there’s a great range of salads and light bites, pizza and pasta, seafood dishes and grilled options, as well as time-old favourites. Choose from the likes of the catch of the day, spicy steak burger, lasagne, ploughman’s lunch and lamb shank. Pizzas can be fully personalised and are excellent value, especially when ordered on Italian night. The comprehensive menu also features breakfast and sandwiches for visitors in the morning or at lunchtime. Behind the bar is a selection of real ales, fine wine, spirits and soft drinks, so you’ll have no trouble finding a tipple to accompany your meal.
If you’re just visiting to imbibe, the pub has a pool table and a quiz every Wednesday to keep visitors entertained, and the three luxurious en-suite rooms upstairs mean you don’t have to worry about making your way home. The White Hart has a great local following, and offers a warm welcome to those from further afield.
