The Chef Thai serves authentic cuisine from all over Thailand. Not only is the food delicious but the presentation is spectacular. We began with the mixed starter for two, which featured tender skewers of satay chicken, vegetarian spring rolls, beautifully tied crispy golden chicken parcels, prawn bread and prawn dumplings, served with sweet chilli and plum dipping sauces. Two bowls of prawn tom yum soup swiftly followed, delivering a wonderful spicy and sour kick before our main courses. I chose the slow-cooked lamb shank Penang, which just melted in the mouth. Equally exquisite were the fried scallops, which arrived on a sizzling hot plate. The mains were served with fluffy rice and perfect pad Thai. It was no surprise to learn that the chef has extensive experience of cooking in Thailand's leading five-star hotels - his exceptional cooking transports you right there.
