King William Inn

Known locally as The Billy, the King William Inn is at the heart of the historical town of Glastonbury. Believed to have been a public house since before 1872, but dating back as far as the 1500s, the inn has a beautiful flower-filled garden, skittle alley, pool table and open fire, all of which enhance the already cheerful atmosphere. The landlady has been running the pub for 12 years and both she and her staff are welcoming and helpful, providing prompt and friendly service. The menu is excellent value for money and includes traditional dishes such as cod encased in homemade, melt-in-the mouth batter and an excellent Sunday carvery, as well as more adventurous options like nachos or tender steak with a Jack Daniel's Tennessee glaze. A full English breakfast is served at lunch and in the evening, and desserts like homemade fruit crumbles are also quintessentially English. As well as offering great food, the pub hosts live bands on Saturday nights, making it an essential stop for any Glastonbury visitor.
