The Cider Tree is an authentic 15th-century free house with a twist on traditions. A recent refurbishment has brought this lovely building back to life whilst retaining its period features. Small details - beer-barrel wall hangings and a bar made from sustainably sourced oak from the Forest of Dean - add inventive touches to the decor. With a successful fish and chips venture next door, customers are encouraged to pick up their food and enjoy it in the relaxed bar at The Cider Tree. If you'd prefer to order in the pub, the menu offers a huge variety of classic, well-priced options, including perfectly crusted pies served with all the trimmings and ample portions of succulent cod and chips. A gourmet burger menu is also available. A long tradition of on-site cider brewing means that the pub serves six homemade varieties, all stored in the cider shed; visit the bar for a further 34 ciders and perries sourced from around Britain. Visitors are also catered for by the large garden. For further fun, there is a market before Christmas in addition to a range of events throughout the year. A further plus is the car park, found opposite the pub and free to use throughout the evening
