Chinese and East Asian
Tyepyedong is an independent family-run restaurant and a well-established Exeter institution. The decor is simple and spotless, the service swift and the atmosphere delightful. The food is also top notch, earning this unpretentious little eatery excellent reviews on TripAdvisor.
The first noodle bar in Exeter, Tyepyedong serves Asian fusion dishes prepared from the finest ingredients, GM-free and without artifi cial colours or flavourings. The food is all freshly cooked to order and the accommodating chef is happy to tweak your meal to suit your tastebuds, skipping an ingredient here or adding extra chilli there. The menu features not just different types of noodles, prepared in a wide variety of ways, but also authentic Chinese soups, hearty Japanese curries, a selection of tempting starters and sides and a range of pan-Asian fried rice dishes. You might start with duck pancake rolls and hoisin sauce or Tyepyedong seafood tempura, follow it with vegetarian yasai soup or a Malaysian stir fry and wash it down with beer, wine or sake, or, for drivers, a soft drink or green tea.
A lunchtime fixed menu is available from noon to 3pm, and there is a takeaway service for everything except soup. Child-friendly portions can be requested for children up to 10 years old. Tyepyedong’s extensive menu and fast, flexible, friendly approach means that it’s sure to be a hit with everyone.
