Conveniently situated on Topsham’s Fore Street, this recently refurbished venue promises a buzzing atmosphere and exceptional seafood. We started with an amuse-bouche of cured cod with sesame paste, which was full of flavour and left us eagerly awaiting our meal. This was followed by crusty bread with fruity olive oil and dukkah. After that came our starters of crab ravioli with shellfish bisque, and pan-seared scallops with carrots and lemongrass, drizzled with coconut sauce. For mains we plumped for the delicate pollock, which came with creamy butternut squash risotto and kale, and the delicious pan-roasted halibut with celeriac remoulade, new potatoes and mustard and peppercorn sauce. We decided to treat ourselves and ended our evening on a sweet note, with homemade petits fours, rhubarb and white chocolate pudding with blood orange sorbet, and steaming cups of coffee. Following our superb evening at The Galley, we can’t wait to return.
