This vibrant pub is situated in the heart of Exeter, and is a phenomenal spot for everything from a quick bite to eat to a casual night out. We attended on pizza night and were hugely impressed with the friendly, effi cient staff and the incredible food. Named CAMRA’S Exeter and East Devon Cider Pub of the Year four years running, where better to meet friends for a drink and a bite to eat?
We found a fantastic selection of pizza with a range of dips and toppings, with something for every preference, be it spicy, mild, meaty, vegetarian or vegan. The pizzas themselves are a sizeable 14 inches, so you’d need a hearty appetite to finish one yourself. Handily, you can opt for a half-and-half pizza with two sets of toppings, which is perfect for sharing. Our pizza comprised one Hawaiian half with lots of ham and juicy pineapple, and an equally tasty second half topped with mushrooms, pepperoni, olives and peppers. The pizza was perfectly cooked and utterly mouthwatering. If you’re feeling peckish, this popular eatery also offers an enormous 14-inch garlic bread as a side. We’ll certainly be returning to explore the regular à la carte menu and tuck into traditional favourites like rich beef lasagne, or one of the delicious vegetarian and vegan alternatives like homemade moussaka. They also offer a range of lighter bites like baguettes and jacket potatoes with a choice of tasty fillings. This buzzing venue hosts regular entertainment evenings including live music on Friday and Saturday, and quiz evenings every Monday. What more could you want?
