Magdalen Street, Exeter, EX2 4HY
A contemporary wonderland, The Magdalen Chapter is housed in the former West of England Eye Hospital. This striking 19th-century building has been sympathetically restored by award-winning architects to transform it into an intimate and stylish hotel, complete with bar, restaurant, spa and lounge.

The restaurant boasts a theatre-style kitchen and panoramic windows which open out onto the stunning terrace and walled garden. Throughout the summer months, guests are welcome to dine on the terrace, enjoy an al fresco afternoon tea or sip something refreshing while lounging in a deck chair on the lawn. Guided by head chef Matt Downing, the team create a daily changing menu, which embraces the seasons and Matt's passion for great food done well. Fresh, seasonal and simply delicious food is at its heart and the focus is on classic British favourites made using the freshest local ingredients. Matt's dishes can be enjoyed in the restaurant and its intimate, private dining spaces, as well as in the lounge and the bar. The restaurant is the ideal haunt for people looking to sample fantastic food in great company.

Located in the heart of the cosmopolitan city of Exeter, the hotel is a five-minute walk from the city centre
