This traditional tearoom perched on Exeter’s bustling and historic quayside is the perfect pit-stop for a light lunch and a cuppa. It’s a tea-lover’s haven with over 100 varieties to get your hands on, not to mention the cream tea itself – made all the more splendid by the home-baked scones and cakes and array of jams served on a traditional tiered stand. Nobody has to miss out, as gluten-free and dairy-free options are available. A full menu is served all day and includes everything from butties, crumpets and full English breakfasts to salads, large sandwiches and jacket potatoes. Dogs and children are welcome, and private party bookings are taken Monday to Friday after 4.30pm. Owners Andy and Annie and the cheery staff are the icing on the cake.
