On the beautiful spring evening we called in, The Olive Branch in Wimborne was buzzing. The garden was packed with groups of friends enjoying drinks under the warmth of the sun, a family sat at a large table celebrating a birthday, and couples relaxed with a pint of Badger beer in hand.
We settled at a cosy window seat overlooking the teaming garden – the life and soul of the market town of Wimborne. We were served by Gabbi, who is part of the furniture at The Olive Branch and made sure we were well looked after all evening.
I started with a delicious plate of maple and paprika tempeh skewers. I already knew that Hall & Woodhouse establishments serve excellent burgers, so I chose a falafel burger seasoned with Mediterranean herbs and spices and topped with vegan burger sauce. As an extra treat, I ordered sweet potato fries on the side. My partner plumped for the healthier option, and sampled a vibrant Vitality salad – a symphony of colourful veggies, leaves, toasted pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. Both meals were the perfect choice for a warm evening.
With little room left for dessert, I managed to finish the chocolate brownie, which was beautifully rich and had a gooey centre. This is the sort of place where you feel right at home and the food never disappoints.
