The Grange Court Hotel
Cafe and Bar
This converted country house with attractive traditional features now functions as a popular guest house and bed and breakfast. The red-brick building, complete with Tudoresque beams on its elegant frontage, stands in its own extensive grounds. Situated in miles of picturesque countryside, this is a perfect base for those wishing to explore East Devon’s Jurassic Coast. The Grange Court Hotel is also within easy reach of Exeter and Exeter airport for those hoping to explore the historic city or jet off on holiday.
If you happen to be in the area one Sunday, it’s well worth popping by to treat yourself to a cream tea, savoury tea or high tea. On fi ne days these can be enjoyed in the suntrap garden or in the cosy lounge area on cooler days. The cream teas are always popular; booking is required, so we would recommend contacting the team in advance to avoid disappointment. Tuck into delectable scones with rich clotted cream and strawberry jam, accompanied by a pot of tea or a cup of coffee. Hotel residents also have the option of barbecue nights on request, which provide great entertainment for all the family. The hotel doesn’t currently offer evening meals but you can enjoy a drink in the pleasant bar area before heading out to supper. There are a number of great places to eat nearby, and the hotel is happy to provide recommendations.
The tasteful bedrooms range from cosy singles to smart superiors; whatever you opt for you can be sure of a great night’s rest. The Grange Court Hotel is a popular events venue, and the well-appointed bedrooms are ideal for those visiting from afar. Private rooms can be arranged for wakes, receptions and private functions. This is also a superb wedding spot – the team provides full support from the day you book and the in-house wedding planner is always happy to give curious couples the full tour.
