The Swan Inn
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Travel by train from Exeter, Exmouth or further afield, cycle or walk along the cycle track from Exmouth, or simply saunter in from the harbour. Just don’t forget to call in at The Swan Inn when you are next in this neck of the woods.
Situated next to the yacht club and just metres from the water’s edge, The Swan is family-run. It’s such a lovely characterful pub, you’ll be won over even before you’ve clocked their range of five accredited real ales, extensive wine list, collection of malt whiskies, gins and much more.
Menus are chosen with care and food is sourced locally wherever possible. Everything is cooked fresh to order, whether it’s one of the daily fresh fish specials, something from the extensive lunch or evening menu, or the fantastic Sunday roast. Fare is affordable, and the lunch club provides two courses for £8.95 and three for £9.95 – and there’s a great loyalty scheme too. On the menus you’ll find the likes of fresh mussels, crab, steaks, curries and spare ribs – there is something for everyone. Guests are also welcome for breakfast from 9.30am, and food is served all day every day during the school holidays. The restaurant accommodates up to 75 diners and you can choose to eat anywhere in the pub, including in the large beer garden, which boasts a pretty decked area.
There is always plenty going on at The Swan. Live bands are a regular feature, as are barbecues and Morris Men performances. The Swan also hosts a real ale festival (on the first weekend in July) and dogs are welcome in the bar and garden.
