A Slice of Lyme
Originally two fisherman’s cottages, this 200-year-old building close to Budleigh Salterton beach is now a friendly and informal licensed bistro. The eclectic menu on offer is primarily influenced by the owners’ travels and South African roots, but also includes some traditional dishes.
Example dishes include local Exe mussels and a variety of fresh fish dishes, steaks, homemade burgers, Trinidadian-style corn-fed chicken and an aubergine and chickpea tagine. There is also a large daily specials menu and, during the day, a very popular midweek and Sunday roast. Local Devon cider, beer, wine, coffee and fruit juice are available to wash it all down. This fresh, inviting venue is the ideal place for refuelling after a day spent at the beach. Opening hours are extended in the summer – visit the website for details.
