Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
This beautiful thatched 12th-century inn, a stone’s throw from the Axe Estuary, is a wonderful pub for local ale, great staff and fine food. While browsing the menu, we spotted the Harbour beefburger and the traditional fish and chips being served to the adjacent table and we knew we weren’t going to be disappointed. Our starters of succulent pan-fried scallops with samphire and sautéed chorizo, and beetroot-cured salmon with rocket and cucumber salad were simply stunning in both taste and presentation. The head chef’s passion shone through in the specials of tender lamb loin marinated in garlic, mint and rosemary, and king prawn and chorizo linguine, which was overflowing with prawns. Offering everything from flatbread pizzas to fresh local fish, The Harbour is the perfect spot for a quick bite or a foray into top-end pub food.
