The Bell at Willersey has oodles of charisma. Easily accessed from Chipping Campden and Broadway, it’s a great place to practice the art of relaxation with a plate of fine food and a pint. Bring your favourite novel and sit quietly in the corner while enjoying a hot beverage, invite your buddies along to clink glasses, or appreciate eating a meal out with the family at The Bell.

The menus reflect the seasons and the chef brings his own fl air when rustling up classic British cuisine with modern touches. Dishes are a wonder to behold, with options including the likes of noisettes of spring lamb, chicken paillard and tenderloin of pork with apricot, ginger and caramelised orange. Dorset apple cake and lemon cheesecake are worthy contenders for dessert. Bar food is less formal and consists of traditional favourites such as beer-battered cod and honey-roast ham. They aren’t just purveyors of fine food – drinks are just as important, with coffee, fine cask ale, wine and a regularly changing selection of beer available.

Keep an eye out for the resident dog, Beau, a French shorthaired shepherd dog. With five en-suite bedrooms sporting a Victorian style to retreat to, it’s tempting to stay longer and discover why this venue has built such a great reputation.
