AV8 Bistro has recently undergone a stylish refurbishment and is now independently run. Located alongside the Fosse Way and built in 1936, the airport was once a World War II aerodrome and is most famous for being the home of the Red Arrows for almost 20 years. Whether you are a pilot, passenger or visitor to this unique and thriving airport, which sits in a stunning spot in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds, at AV8 you can enjoy unrivalled views over the runway whilst relaxing on the terrace and sipping a latte - you may even see a Formula 1 car testing or a 747 coming in to land.

The bistro serves good-quality yet reasonably priced food made using locally sourced produce. Choose from a selection of tempting options from their 'flite bites' menu, including generously filled baguettes, jacket potatoes and soup (all of which are available to take away), or enjoy an all day breakfast or a daily seasonal special. Lunchtime mains include Old Spot sausage and mash, scampi and chips and Thai fishcakes with sweet chilli dip. Be sure to treat yourself to a homemade cake or cookie for dessert, too
