The Old Boathouse
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
The Old Boathouse is a modern, bustling pub named for the boat that hangs from its rafters. As this traditional pub is attractively situated on the water, diners can sit on the decking to admire the view. You won’t miss out by sitting inside though, as the pub boasts lovely large windows. The pub is family-friendly, and there’s a playground for children. Staff show warmth and humour, and the food is excellent. On our visit, I sampled roasted lamb accompanied by potato Dauphinoise and seasonal vegetables, while my partner went for succulent 20-day-aged sirloin steak. Almond tart paired with cinnamon ice cream and a delicious crème brûlée proved the perfect finale toour meal. To accompany the food, there is an extensive array of drinks, including local wines, real ales, liqueurs and soft drinks. The Old Boathouse can host functions, catering for up to 80 guests and there’s a big car park outside.
