The Crown Inn
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Dating from the 17th Century, this delightful pub and restaurant maintains all the classic character features you would expect: inglenooks, rustic stone walls, Dutch gables and solid oak beams. The lounges have open fireplaces and are warm and friendly, whilst the traditional bar is just the place to relax and unwind. Owners Graham and Colin Palmer have worked hard to ensure that this is a pub that you will want to return to - there is a sharp focus on providing excellent food and sourcing locally produced ingredients, together with quality lagers and beers, and an ever-changing guest selection of real ales.
In Henry's Restaurant the bill of fare features wholesome well-established favourites. To get things rolling, you might choose the lovingly prepared homemade soup of the day, or the substantial Mediterranean salad with mozzarella cheese, drizzled in vinaigrette. For your main course, you might consider the juiciest sirloin or rump steak for miles around, but the real draw must surely be The Crown Inn's signature dish; the steak and kidney pie is a real favourite amongst locals and visitors alike. You'll be glad you left a little room for a dessert when you can choose from a rich white chocolate cheesecake, spicy lemon ginger crunch, or a real trifle made with homemade custard.
With two public rooms, The Crown Inn is also ideal for meetings and special events and can easily cater for birthdays and weddings. Outside there are lawns and a patio area, ideal for summer parties. If you are looking for a country pub that has that extra something special, chances are you will fall in love with The Crown Inn.
