The opening of Mulberries is the realisation of a childhood dream for proprietor Cherrie. When you walk into this 17th-Century tea house, you are struck by its truly welcoming ambience. This family-run establishment has flourished in the few short weeks it has been in operation, and it is clear to see why its popularity is growing. The atmosphere, decor, flagstone floors and linen tablecloths covering the tables all ensure you immediately feel at home.

The breakfast menu is so popular, it is now offered all day. Choose from a wide selection, ranging from a full English to toasted muffins; everything is cooked with care and attention to detail. The same applies to the lunch menu, which includes sandwiches, jacket potatoes, substantial daily specials and homemade soup. Then there is the outstanding cream tea. Sandwiches, homemade scones and delicious cakes are presented on a tiered cake stand, served with elegant crockery and cutlery.

All produce is sourced locally, and the menu is set to evolve to include some exciting and innovative dishes made using the freshest of seasonal ingredients. The two-room layout means private functions can be accommodated; indeed, they are welcomed. Booking a table is recommended, especially during the busy lunchtime service. A loyalty card is offered to locals, as Cherrie's wish is to make Mulberries an integral part of the local community. Child-friendly and adult-friendly, with Wi-Fiaccess throughout, Mulberries is set to be an unequivocal success
Open: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm; Sat & Sun 8.30am-5pm (closed Mon & Tues during winter)
