Squid Ink is a stone’s throw from the water in the picturesque town of Looe, tucked down one of the tiny medieval side streets. The restaurant, from its beautiful decor, incredible attention to detail and heartfelt passion of the team, is raising the bar for fine dining in Cornwall. The impeccable service, 30 mile limit for suppliers and strict sustainability standards is ensuring Squid Ink is blazing the way to securing Looe as a foodie destination. Our experience started with a warm welcome and a gin and tonic by the fire. After deliberating over the sublime dishes on offer, I finally decided on the cured tuna with braised octopus to start; it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. My partner enjoyed the pork cheek and asparagus panna cotta with the same enthusiasm. Every course was colourful, fresh and innovative and I have no doubt this restaurant is making its mark on the Cornish food scene.
