The newly refurbished Beach Bar has a large wrap-around deck above the beach, with views that stretch across to Looe Island and beyond. The Beach Bar now serves Cornish lager, ale and cider alongside a classic cocktail menu. The Beach Bar is open from noon until late every day throughout the season and is a great venue for private parties or corporate events. The Black Rock Bistro continues to enhance its superb reputation for serving fresh competitively priced food in a relaxed environment. The extremely attentive team always goes the extra mile and is led by bistro and bar manager Robin Sullivan.
By day, the team serves freshly made coffee, cakes and brunch. Lunchtime features freshly made sandwiches, wraps and panini, as well as the fresh soup of the day. Freshly made tapas dishes complement brunch on the beach, which is made using locally sourced ingredients and is simply perfect. The new menu offers favourites such as the Black Rock burger, and the specials board is updated daily with the catch of the day and other delicious dishes, which are all lovingly prepared by head chef Tim Cruddace and his team. Throughout the winter, the team serves an ever-popular Sunday lunch. From casual beach dining in the summer to cosy, intimate meals in front of the wood burner, the Black Rock Bistro is the perfect all-year eatery. To manage continuously high demand, the inside seating area is increasing from 22 to 55 covers by mid June 2018. This will enable the team to accept bookings for private dining, larger groups, special events and functions. A new takeaway service is being introduced in June 2018, offering everything from ice cream to cheesy chips, and from tea and coffee to deli sandwiches.
