The Prince of Wales, crammed with traditional sporting memorabilia, is situated in Westbury-on-Trym in north Bristol. The pub is full of nooks and crannies, beams, corridors and the odd cricket bat, and attracts a loyal crowd of drinkers and sports followers who can watch their game of choice on one of the large screens. But if sport isn't your thing, don't let this put you off - the post-match dissection on the next table and occasional cheer only add to the genuine village pub atmosphere.

Traditional, home-cooked pub fare is the order of the day here, with beer-battered cod and chips, homemade lasagne and The Prince's homemade burger on the menu, as well as a selection of salads, baguettes and jackets. The mains are impressive in quantity, reasonably priced and cooked to perfection. If you're just in need of a snack, nibble on a bowl of cheesy chips as you admire the antique posters and sports trophies that adorn the walls.

During the summer months take advantage of the beautiful garden at The Prince of Wales and enjoy a pint in the sunshine. Proving you don't have to venture too far out of Bristol's city centre to enjoy a cosy and convivial village pub, this place is waiting to welcome you with open arms
