Tucked away in a beautiful corner of Clifton, The Red Lion Wine House is fast becoming established as Bristol's finest venue for wine lovers. A short walk from Blackboy Hill and the Durdham Downs, The Red Lion has been at the centre of this community for over 150 years.

The relaxed and cosy ambience of the place is instantly apparent. The bar features wine-related pictures and memorabilia, leather Chesterfield sofas to sink into and an eye-catching glass-fronted wine cellar. Unwaveringly dedicated to wine, The Red Lion Wine House folk provide a carefully sourced and well-priced selection - the bar offers 20 wines by the glass and the cellar houses a further selection of over 50 hand-picked bottles. The friendly staff ensure the extensive wine list remains accessible by being on-hand to offer advice and recommendations. There's also a range of bottled beers and soft drinks available. A skill for selecting premium produce continues at the deli counter, where cheese and charcuterie boards and a selection of special dishes are available daily. The award-winning cheeses on offer range from Keen's cave-aged Cheddar and Stichelton to Vacherin Mont D'or. These can be accompanied by outstanding charcuterie from artisan producers such as Trealy Farm, Castellano's and The Real Boar Company. Regular one-off restaurant events, catered for by some of the best local chefs, are unmissable - as with the delicious Sunday lunches, it's best to book your spot early
