Number 10 is a friendly neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Redland, owned and run by Kazem, whose love of food embraces a wide variety of cuisines. The evening menu is extremely varied, and with good reason - Kazem says, 'I have put on the menu the food that I like', and the man certainly has good taste.

Our visit to Number 10 was a veritable taste explosion. We started with hot and crispy samosas stuffed with lamb, sweet potato, coriander and sultanas, served with tzatziki. Other starters, all priced at £4.50, included prawn cocktail, Thai fish cakes and Mediterranean salad. When it comes to main courses, priced from £8.90, there really is something for everyone, from seared sea bass to Persian curries, sirloin steak, and an impressive range of vegetarian options. The daily special of beef goulash was tender, rich and delicious, served with perfectly cooked rice. It was impossible to refuse one of Number 10's indulgent desserts - the chocolate fudge cake and lemon meringue cake looked great, but we plumped for a wedge of New York cheesecake. It was delightfully smooth and creamy, laced with vanilla and complemented by a crunchy biscuit layer.

This irresistible bistro is also open for breakfast, serving a full English, croissants, toast and a range of coffees. For lunch there are salads, wraps and substantial main courses. With all this marvellous food on offer, Number 10 should definitely be your number one choice when eating out.
