Named Independent Restaurant of the Year at the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s Food Made Good Awards 2016, as well as Crumbs Magazine’s Best Casual Dining Restaurant 2017, Poco is a well-loved Bristol legend. A stand-out favourite of Bristol’s booming food scene, Poco is best known for its seasonally changing British tapas menu and multiple-award-winning sustainable business practices. Set on the corner of Jamaica Street in the shadow of Banksy’s famous Mild Mild West mural, Poco is one of the city’s best spots for people-watching, with windows facing Bristol’s legendary artistic quarter, Stokes Croft – one of the most dynamic stretches of pavement in the city.

A central open kitchen fills the restaurant with irresistible aromas and brings the theatre of chefs at work. The menu showcases the very best of what the Dorset coastline and Somerset hedgerows and pastures offer seasonally. Much-loved classics like labneh with za’atar and roast Saddleback pork belly never stray far from the menu, but the main body of dishes changes to echo the shifting seasons. At the time of writing, plates like lamb shoulder, smoked beetroot, nettle and hazelnut pesto evoke spring, while signal crayfish, and Fowey mussels with capers and dill brings a defi nite summer twist to the table. Dishes are big on flavour and designed for sharing, making Poco one of the Bristol’s most sociable dining venues.

The team’s dedication to sustainability is inspiring and showcased in its green manifesto, which can be found on Poco’s website. The team raises money for numerous charities, supports Bristol food producers and hosts many inspiring and educational events.

Brunches and lunches are hearty, healthy and draw inspiration from creative New York establishments. Bristol Loaf sourdough toast is laden with organic eggs, and salads are fresh, vibrant and colourful, balancing a myriad of fl avours and textures.

Cocktails comprise homemade and foraged infusions, and the wine list boasts delicious and affordable organic house wine as well as natural, biodynamic and English options. Add good friends, passionate staff and warm service, and you have one of the city’s most welcoming, atmospheric dining experiences.
