The Mauretania on Park Street is housed in one of Bristol's most fascinating and historic buildings, but until now its luxurious rooms have been something of a secret. The venue takes its name from the world-famous Mauretania ocean liner, which was built in 1906 and was the biggest, fastest and most opulent ship of her time. When she was scrapped in 1935, some of her fittings were rescued by a Bristol wine merchant, who installed them in his headquarters, which, over time, became a bar and bistro known as the Mauretania Club. This fabulous venue, now simply named Mauretania, retains an interior packed with original features from the ship.

Mauretania is now open to the public, offering a wide variety of unusual and engaging events. You can look forward to the likes of the Clandesdine secret supper club, art talks and vintage markets, as well as live music and performances. There's also sure to be a healthy dose of superbly mixed cocktails and vintage tea parties.

With a bar stocked with the finest quality beverages, including rare spirits and specialist beers, and expert mixologists on-hand, it's no surprise Mauretania has become one of the most popular watering holes in Bristol. Expect decadent cocktails served with the finesse associated with the exclusivity of luxury travel in the early 20th century. You might have a Polish Experience, which sees Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka muddled with fresh mint, lemon and Galliano syrup served with cloudy Eager apple juice, but my personal favourite is the classic Cucumber and Elderflower Collins - Hendrick's gin muddled with fresh lemon and sliced cucumber topped with Bottle Green elderflower cordial.

The elegant and sumptuous decor means that Mauretania is a memorable venue for events - just imagine holding your wedding reception here. It's great for corporate events, conferences, team building and business meetings that require a little theatre, but it's also well-suited to birthday parties and other personal celebrations - the team will work with you to create just the right ambience and package, which can include catering.
