The Jersey Lily
Sitting in a prime spot at the top of bustling Whiteladies Road, Jersey Lily is unassuming from the outside yet offers a warm welcome and consistently fantastic food. Whether you’re visiting for a relaxed drink in the sun after exploring Clifton Downs, or looking for a hearty meal and a drink in the colder months, this hidden gem won’t disappoint.
As we arrived early in the evening, the place was busy with couples and friends old and young enjoying drinks and tucking into delicious homemade traditional fare. It was immediately clear that Jersey Lily is a popular community hub, a relaxed yet lively place to enjoy a meal or drinks. At the bar, a wide range of gins and other spirits make for an impressive display. To start, we enjoyed a sizzling plate of nachos piled high and topped with homemade salsa, guacamole and cheese. The Queen Bean veggie burger was a vibrant mix of flavours, served with the most delightful and fluffy skin-on chips. My partner opted for the smoky José burger with smoked Cheddar, chorizo, lettuce, tomato and relish on a brioche bun.
To top off our indulgent meal, it was hard to say no to warm raspberry and white chocolate cake, served with raspberry and cinnamon ice cream. We left eager for our imminent return.
